The social bookmarks review has been revised and extended.
What’s new?
- More services: Furl, Spurl, del.icio.us, Feedmelinks, Gibeo, Blogmarks.net, HLOM, Simpy, CiteULike, Connotea, Linkroll, OpenBM and unalog
- Some more aspects, such as search and easy URIs.
- Maybe the document’s layout has become better.

Hello and vielen dank for providing this. My name is Otis and I’m the Simpy guy. Thank you for providing this nice summary and overview of different social bookmarking services, it’s quite useful. Here is some information about Simpy, which I hope you can include in the next version of the PDF:
– other members that saved this link – Simpy has that in form of “Link History”. For example:
http://www.simpy.com/simpy/LinkHistory.do?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mozilla.org%2F&v=1&src=bookmarklet
– set archive private/public – Simpy implements this through private/public mode of each individual link, and by allowing you to set the default access mode through Preferences
– Send links to other – this can be done when adding and editing links
– Archive for other members feed – Simpy offers this, for example:
http://www.simpy.com/simpy/LinksFeed.do?username=otis&type=1&op=atom&version=0.3
Moreover, Simpy offers 4 feed formats: Atom 0.3, RSS 2.0, RSS 1.0, and RSS 0.91
– If you just want to look at it with a browser, you can see it like this, for example:
http://www.simpy.com/simpy/User.do?username=otis
– Point 16 (bottom) is no longer true. That limit has been removed.
– Extensions for Mozilla/Firefox – Simpy also has a real Mozilla/Firefox search plugin, please see:
http://www.simpy.com/simpy/BrowserPlugins.do

Sorry for the mistakes, I will include it ASAP. The limit was still exisiting some days ago. Search plug-ins are existing for most of the services, so I didn’t include them, maybe I better make a note about this.

Thanks for including igooi in the article. I like your summary. It is great.
Here I would like to provide some more igooi information (Some are new added feature). You may consider including it in the next version.
1. clipping
igooi has clipping feature, it is called “Description” in igooi which is used to input some clipping of the link.
igooi also has comment feature. igooi’s comment is unqiue: If the link is from a blog, it will try to Trackback with the comment.
2. Set Archive Public/Private.
in http://www.igooi.com/cn/mypreference.aspx, there is a setting: “Private by default”. If set, all links saved will set as private
3. Search. igooi has search feature. “inside your bookmark” or “all bookmark”

4. I am not sure the meaning of “Archive for other memeber’s feed” & ”...with RSS Feed”.
Do you mean see other’s archive or RSS? If so, you can visit http://www.igooi.com/user/ or http://www.igooi.com/rss/user/ to see it. If I misunderstand, please let me know webmaster#igooi.com. :-)

Archive for other members’ feed means a kind of inbox (have a look at del.icio.us). In the case of del.icio.us, this inbox has an own RSS feed, in the case of Furl, it doesn’t.

If by “Archive for other members’ feeds” you mean something like del.icio.us Inbox, then you should make a note of Simpy’s Topics. It’s like del.icio.us Inbox, but more powerful. What makes it more powerful is that you can 1) have more than one Topic (you can have only 1 Inbox in delicious), and 2) you can set Topic Filters in each Topic, thus focusing only on links that really interest you. Each Topic can have any number of members and any number of filters.

Schön wäre noch eine Anmerkung, ob es auch eine Gruppenfunktion gibt. Furl plant ja sowas. Kennt jemand einen Dienst, bei dem man jetzt bereits ein Archiv gemeinsam verwalten kann?
Gleich mehrere Dienste bieten das an. Darunter Spurl (spurl streams), Connotea und andere.

Ich habe einen Scuttle-basierten Bookmark-Manager angelegt, den man auch als RSS-Newsreader verwenden kann (wird auch noch verbessert).

Einfach Newsfeeds mit atfeedat * taggen und schon funktionierts.
Mich würde interessieren, ob die Idee als gut empfunden wird und ich das ausbauen soll.

Wenn OPML-Import möglich wäre, dann wäre es vielleicht etwas anderes?
Ansonsten finde ich es aber nicht umständlicher als Bloglines.
Vielleicht habe ich ja auch einen komischen Geschmack.
Ich habe bewußt Reader und Bookmark-Manager gemischt (Deshalb umständlich???).
